For many years, Cyprus has been one of the most popular destinations in the med. Now in the EU since May 2004, Cyprus has become not just a popular holiday destination, but a very pleasant, enjoyable and safe place to raise a family or retire.
The crime rate in Cyprus is wonderfully low. The education system is relatively good, but we also enjoy affordable private schooling in all towns. Through all its troubles, Cyprus has maintained its charm and as most visitors will tell you the Cypriot hospitality is second to none.
With five main towns, each one with its own attractions, Cyprus has many things to offer. With a definite cosmopolitan feel to all the main towns, Cyprus still manages to maintain its original village feel.
All the main towns offer a vast array of restaurants, tavernas and cafeterias and the night life is a constant plus be it summer or winter. Located in the centre of the Mediterranean, locals and tourist alike enjoy mini cruises to the Greek Isles, Egypt and the Middle East.
But should you not wish to venture other shores, Cyprus still has many places to visit and the general concept of “skiing in the morning and swimming in the sea by afternoon” is certainly within anyone’s reach.
