Channel 4's A Place In The Sun
Presenting a house for ‘A Place in the Sun’ was most certainly a rewarding and exciting experience for us. Having no prior camera or filming experience made the task terrifying, but something we had to try.
Our clients had already viewed other properties across the Island and came to us relaxed and comfortable around the crew. We, on the other hand were nervous wrecks, but only for the first five minutes. Marion and Alan had a clear idea about the type of property they were looking for and had spread their search to each corner of the Island.
Our day started bright and early, with the camera crew setting up and of course providing breakfast. After meeting with the clients and seeing how relaxed and bubbly they were, the day passed without a glitch. Filming continued all day, with the relevant breaks kindly organised by the crew, but once we got into the swing of things, we must admit that filming was effortless and thoroughly enjoyable.
We didn’t even have that many disastrous outtakes, which we were sure would end up on Dennis Norton’s program. Marion and Alan were very impressed with the size of the properties. They had specified a passion for outdoor living and large living areas and the properties we offered certainly matched their requirements.
The crew made a point of not allowing the couple to view any room before filming, so the reactions our viewers saw were genuine. Good job they liked the properties!!!
Since filming with Channel 4 and having our “claim to fame” we enjoyed it so much, that when we were asked to present a property for BBC 2, we jumped at the opportunity.
